I am fed up with diets.
I am fed up with magazines that encourage women to be stick thin.
I am fed up with depriving myself of the foods I love.
I am fed up with numbers and scales.
I am fed with comparing myself to others.
I am fed up with body talk.
I am fed up with counting calories and cutting out carbs.
I am fed up with picking myself apart in front of the mirror.
I am fed up with secret late night binges.
I am fed up with rules about dieting.
I am fed up with black and white thinking.
I am fed up with being fed up.
WHAT ARE YOU FED UP WITH?

You have expressed this beautifully. I went through these feelings for many years and at the end of it, I was just fed up with myself and fed up always fighting with myself and my hunger. So I used to sleep for hours on end, just to stop the feelings!
These days I try to focus on how strong and healthy my body is, instead of how imperfect it is compared to those perfect magazine girls. It really is one day at a time.

I appreciate this entry, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I’m also working on focusing on health moreso than weight, and it’s a huge challenge for me. I’m sure with time, things will get easier… for now I’m just trying to focus on taking each day as it comes, and being satisfied with that. Good luck on your journey!
